Our Work

As more of us live longer, we have an exciting opportunity to rethink the future of our communities.

Our Mission

We are a trusted resource, and we advance solutions to meet the critical needs of older adults and caregivers.

Our Vision

Every older adult in Middle Tennessee feels valued
and can live and age well.

Our Values

At AgeWell Middle Tennessee, we are passionate about reframing aging and addressing unmet needs by being a trusted community resource, a convener and catalyst for solutions, and a champion and advocate for older adults and family caregivers.

As a nonprofit organization serving 13 counties in Middle Tennessee, we believe in aging well and are committed to reframing aging and creating inclusive communities where older adults are valued and connected to the people and places that foster active living and bring meaning to life. We value family caregivers and believe they deserve unbiased information, guidance, and support as they care for aging loved ones.

There is much work to be done as we dream and shape what it means to “age well” and to that end, we commit to fostering and promoting inclusive communities. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a core value that undergirds our infrastructure and programs, and we believe this encompasses representation, access, and belonging. We commit ourselves to increasing diversity on our board, staff, and committees, and to ensuring that we are intentional in our outreach, engagement, and advocacy.

In Our Work, We Will

  • be a catalyst for change, driving initiatives and advocating for solutions that better support older adults in our region.

  • convene people and organizations to collaborate and solve critical needs of older adults in our community.

  • empower and support older adults and their caregivers through our programs, ensuring their needs are met effectively.

  • provide community decision-makers with the information needed to make informed choices that empower older adults.

  • remain fiscally responsible, ensuring sustainability while maximizing our impact.

  • prioritize diversity and inclusion, both within our organization and through intentional outreach and advocacy, valuing the growing diversity of older adults and the communities we serve.
