Elizabeth Jacobs Distinguished Service Awardee

Nancy Conway

Nancy Conway has been selected as the recipient of the annual Elizabeth Jacobs Distinguished Service Award and will be honored at the 2025 Sage Awards. Nancy has been an unwavering ambassador for AgeWell, especially in Williamson County, where her dedication to community service and relationship-building continues to inspire. She was originally recognized with AgeWell’s Sage Award in 2017 for her lifelong commitment to improving the quality of life in Middle TN. Since joining AgeWell’s Board of Directors in 2018, Nancy has taken on several leadership roles, including Board Treasurer in 2021 and election to Board President in 2022. She now serves as Immediate Past President and remains a trusted voice in guiding the organization forward.

In addition to her leadership, Nancy actively fosters community connections and makes sure we have strong Sage Award candidates. Her warmth, generosity, and thoughtful engagement makes her a vital part of the AgeWell family. She always takes time to make sure that staff feels supported, valued, and appreciated.

We believe that aging should be celebrated and embraced and that older adults have a lifetime of wisdom and experience to offer communities. As more of us live longer, we have an exciting opportunity to reimagine our community to ensure we can age well. The Sage Awards are one way that we are changing the conversation about what it means to be part of the emerging and vital older generation.

The Sage Awards, presented each year since 1991, are given to mature adults who have made outstanding contributions through a lifelong commitment to working to improve the quality of life in their communities.  In addition, the Sage Awards recognize organizations that have made a significant and positive impact on the lives of older adults in Middle Tennessee.

Sage Awards Audience

The audience at the Sage Awards includes a dynamic mix of AgeWell supporters, community leaders, and professionals from businesses dedicated to serving older adults, as well as retirees and influencers who are passionate about supporting and advocating for older adults. Many of our attendees are deeply involved in efforts to make a meaningful impact on the lives of older adults, working to improve their well-being and quality of life in our community.

In addition, older adults are a powerful demographic, controlling a substantial portion of consumer wealth in the U.S. Studies show that individuals aged 50+ account for over 70% of the nation’s wealth and make up more than half of all consumer spending. This financially influential group is not only shaping economic trends but is also highly engaged in supporting products and services that meet their specific needs, making them an important audience.
